Who want’s to hear more?
Alex was no where near counting like this at two. She blows me away.
I’m gearing up to write my “War & Peace” -esq blog post about my nearly 2 year old baby girl. In the mean time, enjoy this video from last night. “Lookit” is a big word right now and this was just too cute not to share.
It’s been almost two months since I’ve posted and there’s been good reason. The holidays kicked my ass. Then sickness kept kicking our ass. Then work kicked my ass. So there. Sorry I’m not sorry. I love documenting our life on this little blog, but at the end if the day, I have higher priorities. But to catch everyone up,… Read more →
Our winter garden has kicked ass. Despite a freakishly cold December and the driest season Sacramento has seen in 100 years, we’ve kicked out some solid veggies. The most successful ones were the lettuce varieties. They’ve all grown like crazy. We’ve made some salads but mostly used them for juicing. These pictures don’t even do them justice. They are so gorgeously green and delicious. Our root veggies didn’t take. The lesson learned is the they need more room to grow down. Duh. Henry has been a gardening maniac lately reading up on how to maximize your growth in small areas while cutting down on waste. He’s pumped to get the summer stuff planted in a few months. Meanwhile he’s been collecting what little rain water we’ve received in garbage cans plus a bucket in our shower to water the backyard. And as I type this, I have cloth diapers drying in the sun on lawn chairs, plus the water bins and hay all over the garden (to keep in moisture) my yard is looking kinda “oakie” right now. Oh well. Lets just pretend we are channeling our resourceful, old school, immigrant relatives. If anyone has any suggestions on how to use up all these greens before they need to go, I’m all ears!!
Note to self: next year, I should put the tree up BEFORE any new ornaments are purchased. I forgot how many I actually have. It’s a lot. I like to buy ornaments that have some sort of meaning to the family….inside jokes, hobbies, kid references. These beauties are my newest additions. A lemon for our lemon tree in the backyard.… Read more →

I dread family photos. Especially since Chloe was born. Its always stressful getting the kids dressed and getting them to sit still and smile. It never happens the way you want. And inevitably, there is a melt down. This year was no exception. We took off for Capitol Park which always has amazing back drops for pictures. We were only out shooting for about 15-20 minutes but I figured we got at least one decent shot for Christmas cards. And we did. ONE. Thank you very much, Chloe!!! She was the most difficult because she didn’t want to be held. And once Alex engages her….forget about it. I’m just happy our photographer, Nicole, is still willing to work with us 🙂 These shots didn’t make the cut, but still good enough for sharing. But the good news is that my cards are ordered and I’m ahead of the game there. So I got that goin’ for me. Which is nice.
